Welcome to The Fear and Now!

A podcast-style thesis about the aesthetics of horror in fiction podcasts

I know what you’re thinking: “a podcast about other podcasts?!” And yes, it might seem like a bit of overkill. But this project is more than that.

The Fear and Now is history, culture, storytelling, media, theory and everything in between, a multi-media research project that traces the historical construction of horror through the lenses of radio drama and its digital cousin podcasting. Its an aural journey through horror aesthetics that uses shows like The Horror of Dolores Roach, Limetown, Archive 81 and others as jumping-off points to better understand the political and societal implications of horror in our Digital Age.
